Abstract

In realizing a quality education would require various elements that must be met, including financing. Although financing is not everything, but without sufficient financing, quality education is difficult to achieve and one source of educational finance is the community. Society is seen as the basic capital of education development. Community involvement and support in education will have a positive impact on the achievement of the stated objectives. However, the growing stigma in society is that education is the responsibility of the government so that this leads to weak community participation in education where it impedes on improving the quality of education. Therefore, it is necessary to optimize community participation. The steps that can be taken to optimize the participation of the community for strengthening the source of education funding is to always persuade the community, give rewards to those who participate actively, identify the community's expectations and needs and ask them to evaluate school activities or programs such as through questionnaires as well as with Always trying to improve the quality of education both quality in fact and quality in perception.
